It's 1941 all over again. When the right wingers were decrying Iran for being run by fascists, the Left told them they were hot headed and excitable. It's all just gamesmanship and so on. Are they still going to make that claim?

In retrospect, yes. The story is questionable. The source, Taheri insists it is still kicking around the government w/o being signend.

If, however, it does pan out and people are required to wear anything that identifies their religion, then no. They'll be on a very slippery slope.

I've been holding off on commenting on the imbroiglio over a posting at DelawareLiberal for Veteran's Day for several reasons. First and foremost is the situation at home (more on that later) but also because I wanted to get some distance from it to be sure I was seeing things clearly. I've been reading DV's stuff since before he joined Jason on his site and I've noticed a change in tone which seems to have accelerated of late. I enjoyed going to the old site because it was one the few places I could engage someone with different ideas than mine without things crashing headlong into Godwin's law within 3 posts. In short, DV acted in good faith and was rather deferential to his visitors which I greatly appreciated. I'm an average guy with an average life. I have a few more kids than most but for the most part I'm just an anonymous lumpenprole toiling away in obscurity both professionally and on this blog. To say my life follows a certain routine is like saying " The Hindenburg caught fire." That is to say, technically accurate but wildly understates the truth. In any event, I just received a call from The Wife. To wit: "Did you order something?" "No, why?" "There's something here for you." "Uh, box, bag, envelope, singing telegram?" "It's a box" "Who's is from?" "It's from [Name redacted pending confession or further investigation]" "Who?" "(repeats name)" "No idea. Never heard of him." Brief update

 Ok, so I'm going to try writing again as an attempt to hash out some things that I think about but haven't given enough effort to untangle.  This is largely based on conversations I have with a left wing person whom I greatly respect and has been good enough to challenge me and my ideas in a most respectful manner.  I find that in our conversations I'm falling short of what I want to say in a coherent manner.  Perhaps I can do that here.   Here's hoping
