Poorly Chosen URL's

Here is a list of real web sites with horribly bad chosen URLs: * An agency named “Who Represents” can tell you the name of the agent representing a celebrity. Their website is www.whorepresents.com. * Experts Exchange is a knowledge base for programmers maintained by programmers to help each other. Their website is www.expertsexchange.com. * Want to buy a pen? Pen Island is the place to go. Go to website www.penisland.net. * Looking for a therapist? Try www.therapistfinder.com. *Looking for the Italian Power Generator company? They are at www.powergenitalia.com. *If you want to find the Mole Station Native Nursery (they grow flowers): Look at www.molestationnursery.com. * In retrospect, being the First Cumming Methodist Church, and picking a URL of www.CummingFirst.com was probably a poor choice. *If you need an art designer, you can find one at Speed Of Art. Their URL is www.speedofart.com. h/t: random email

Quote of the Day

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse...A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. As long as justice and injustice have not terminated their ever-renewing fight for ascendancy in the affairs of mankind, human beings must be willing, when need is, to do battle for the one against the other." John Stuart Mill "The Contest in America," Fraser’s Magazine (February 1862)

Why Friday Was Horrible

I'll start off by saying that my son doesn't do well in the car. By "doesn't do well" I mean, he will frequently hit or kick anyone within reach for the duration of the trip. That little nugget lets you know why we don't travel to the midwest to visit my family. As I am not http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croesus, I am not going to fly 6 people there. As I am not certifiably insane, I'm not driving there either. On Friday, I took my eldest son to see a behavioral specialist in Baltimore. That's an hour plus in nice weather. Add freezing rain and it's even longer. For added fun, we were about 20 minutes late in leaving which put the pressure on to get there with all possible speed. Oh, and did I mention that half an hour into our journey I realized we didn't bring his mid day dose of his medication (the one that keeps him balanced)? No, well, throw that into the mix too. Gas? Meet Fire. We've been working with his teachers and thera
