George W. Bush is a moron

and so is John McCain. At least that's what I keep hearing. Every utterance from the President is scrutinized for any possible interpretation that makes him look stupid. McCain is derided for saying Shia when he meant Sunni.

What would the world say if either of them referred to the "57 States" they've visited? There would be unceasing howls from Berkley to Boston and rightfully so.

So what to make of Obama describing his visits to 57 states? Some in the audience laugh but it's clear he's not joking. He goes on to say that he wanted to visit Alaska and Hawaii but his staff couldn't justify it. The fact that this is not news anywhere on the MSM is proof positive that democrats and especially The One will never be subjected to the same cynical eye cast on republicans

A Really Inconvenient Truth

Inconvenient Untruth

There is new evidence of misleading information in Al Gore's Oscar-winning global warming film "An Inconvenient Truth."

ABC News reports one of the most famous shots in the movie — of Antarctic ice shelves — is a fake. The film's visual effects supervisor says the film took the shot from the fictional movie "The Day After Tomorrow," which created it from Styrofoam and scanned it into a computer.

"Yeah, that's our shot," she says. "That's a fully computer-generated shot. There's nothing real in there."

ABC wanted to ask Gore whether it was wrong for a documentary to use a fabricated shot to make a point, but says he did not return their calls.

I can hear it now. "It doesn't matter if the footage is fake! He's trying to make a point you dolt! It speaks to a larger truth even if he's using footage from an alarmist Hollywood thriller."

Iron Man vs. Linux

No, I am not kidding. If this makes any sense to you at all, please explain it to me in the comments

Simply loathesome

I've always attempted to debate with those who disagree with me. That is, to disagree without being disagreeable. I always try to assume the best motivations and intentions of others.

I've avoided anything approaching a flame war on my blog or others. (Largely absent here as one needs readers and/or comments to have such a thing)

Jason at DelawareLiberal had two of the most risible, unhinged, despicable posts in two days. First he libels General Petraeus. A man with an impeccable record and impugns the honor of a man who has spent 30+ years defending this country. Simply disgusting. He also libels the President but that's a daily event there so nothing new. He also demonstrates bottomless ignorance on even the most basic rules of the military regarding legal and illegal orders.

Second, he puts our nation on par with mass murderers. That's right. You and I are no different than 19 evil murders who set out to kill as many people as possible. No distinction for the accidental deaths of civilians.

The gobsmacking idiocy and absolutely moral depravity of such posts is beyond words. Jason has clearly demonstrated his hatred for this country. Don't sell me any bullshit about how he loves the country and just thinks we're doing something wrong here. I don't want to hear it. It's crap and you know it.

No words of remembrance. He doesn't want to remember the dead. The innocent people going to work on Tuesday morning. No. His first instinct is condemnation of himself and his country.

Screw you Jason, you're an asshole of the first order.

Clowns KKKick KKK ass!

In what has to be a sure sign of the coming apocalypse I agree with Indymedia. Essentially, a bunch of clowns (in the form of white supremacists) were protested by a bunch of people dressed as circus clowns. I'm torn between ignoring white supremacists and mocking them. This one makes me think that mocking them is probably the better course b/c they take themselves so seriously.

Well done!

Guy catches .50 BMG ricochet to the head

Guy catches .50 BMG ricochet to the head.

If you watch the video, you can hear that they're trying to put a round through a piece of iron. Complete friggin' morons. It drives me insane to see people mishandling firearms. This guy was lucky. Very lucky. Quarter inch to the side and he'd have a mouthful of lead.

(NB: for those unfamiliar with firearms, the .50 BMG is the largest handgun in the world. The rounds are comparable to a .308 rifle.)

It's a wonder that any real calls get through. Simply gobsmacking.

The Year Without Toilet Paper

See Moonbats in their native enviroment!

Thrill to the adventures of beeswax candles and vegan stew!

Imagine The Year Without Toilet Paper!

Seriously, get help. If you're going to do the Walden thing I can't imagine why you'd do it in NYC. Move to frickin' Northern Idaho or even somewhere tropical. Makes more sense to me.

Quote of the day #2

The Corner on National Review Online

“Opposing the deportation of Jews had not been a matter of major national interest.”

Oh, so then it's OK I guess. It's only important or necessary to oppose the wholesale slaughter of an entire group of people if its a matter of major national interest.

Spitting on the troops

There were a few tense moments, however, including an encounter involving Joshua Sparling, 25, who was on crutches and who said he was a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Division and lost his right leg below the knee in Ramadi, Iraq. Mr. Sparling spoke at a smaller rally held earlier in the day at the United States Navy Memorial, and voiced his support for the administration’s policies in Iraq.

Later, as antiwar protesters passed where he and his group were standing, words were exchanged and one of the antiwar protestors spit at the ground near Mr. Sparling; he spit back.

File this for the next time you hear about the hard left "supporting the troops"
