Obama's Money

This story will go exactly nowhere. Michelle Malkin will be spitting nails but it's too late in the game for this to matter. After the election there will be even less interest.

Obama money from abroad could total $3.3 million: "The $3.3 million total does not include donors who have given less than $200 and whose contributions do not have to be itemized. Some of that money could also have come from overseas. About half of Obama's $455 million in contributions so far are unitemized. The campaign does not identify those donors.

Message here is: Donate as much as you like just make sure you keep it under $200 at a time. That way we can get around those pesky financing laws.

Obama senior adviser David Axelrod, speaking to reporters en route to Nashville, Tenn., on Tuesday, noted that anyone can donate to the campaign through the Internet. 'We monitor these things as best we can,' he said.

If this is your best, you have no business running our government.

Republican John McCain's campaign lists all his donors, even those who give less than $200, on his Web site.

The Obama campaign has begun to request passport numbers from donors to verify their citizenship.

Those Republican fatcat rich guys with their secret back room dealing Dick Cheney secreteyness.

What happens when Obama's supporters don't have a passport number?

Asked why the Obama campaign doesn't do the same and open its database to the public, Axelrod said the campaign returns improper contributions.

Did you catch that? Why don't you open the database? We comply with the law. Translation: These are not the droids you're looking for.

'Obviously we've got a huge database of contributors,' he said. 'It's valuable to our campaign... We're probably more forthcoming about disclosure than anyone.'"

Except for, you know, John McCain.

Translation of Axelrod's comments.

"Nothing to see here, now move along." Well that and "Don't worry about it, you can trust Obama."

I thought Obama was all for accountability and transparency in government? Guess not.

Transparency and accountability for thee, not for me sayeth Obama.

Well that fits just perfectly with his take on several other policy issues now doesn't it?
