Here's a post about The Gospel of Judas. I don't know why everyone is so agitated about this one. This isn't new and it isn't, by any means, a "lost" gospel. It was not written by Judas but rather, by Gnostics over a hundred years after his death. The author was not a Christian and there's nothing in there that is groundbreaking. The aforementioned post, links to this one about what's in there and what it all means. The author has a PhD from Harvard in New Testament so I think he's a wee bit more qualified than me to comment. It is interesting from an historical perspective but other than that, all smoke and no fire.
That state of the DE blogosphere
I've been holding off on commenting on the imbroiglio over a posting at DelawareLiberal for Veteran's Day for several reasons. First and foremost is the situation at home (more on that later) but also because I wanted to get some distance from it to be sure I was seeing things clearly. I've been reading DV's stuff since before he joined Jason on his site and I've noticed a change in tone which seems to have accelerated of late. I enjoyed going to the old site because it was one the few places I could engage someone with different ideas than mine without things crashing headlong into Godwin's law within 3 posts. In short, DV acted in good faith and was rather deferential to his visitors which I greatly appreciated. Since pulling the old blog and posting on DelwareLiberal, I've noticed that ground has eroded rather quickly. Why aren't skeptical questions about Mohammad and the Quran publicized during Ramadan...Not that I want them to be. Just noticing a double standard. And perhaps a virulent hatred for Christians in the MSM?
