Liberals seem wholly unconcerned with cost/benefit analysis for anything other than the US military
Conservatives are wholly unconcerned with corporate bailouts. Anyone who supported such bailouts is forever banned from talking about the self correcting market.
Liberals resent rich people except for those with the correct politics like George Soros.
Liberals seem to think that giving tax cuts to rich people is going to cause them to put it in a huge pile like Scrooge McDuck rather than either spending or investing it (either of which would employ someone).
Corollary, if rich people are making money they are taking it away from poor people to do so. How this is so is never explained. It is simply an article of faith.
Liberals tell me that health care vital and everyone must be covered so the state should cover everyone. When I ask why more immediate needs like food, clothing or shelter should not be purchased and allocated by the state they don't have an answer.
The amount of time someone has been in office is directly proportional to corruption.
The founding fathers were not libertarians out of some high minded ideals. Rather they were more pragmatic and knew that the more money that is controlled by politicians will lead to fraud, waste and abuse.
Democrats will support any candidate through any sex scandal but turn up their back on you in a financial scandal. The reverse is true for Republicans.
Liberals believe corporations are intrinsically evil and must be curbed by the ever beneficent state which is always acting out of public interest. How one half of the government can be run by either evil geniuses (Cheyney) or dunces (Bush) while the other is run by perfect actors is unknown.
Conservatives believe Big Business is good and right and if they ever make a mistake it was either an oversight or an honest blunder. Never have corporations acted improperly to screw the consumers, taxpayers, rivals or the environment.
Liberals see nothing wrong with Gay Pride parades that include public nudity, simulated sex acts and other lewd and lascivious behavior intended to shock or offend.
Conservatives are outraged that gay people want to settle down, marry and establish stable long term relationships. Such behavior is somehow a threat to marriage whereas drive through Vegas weddings conducted by Elvis impersonators which end in divorce or annulment mere days later is not.
Women will buy something they don't need because it is on sale. Men will pay a premium for something they need if it is available right now
Republicans are fear mongers for overstating the threat of terrorism to drum up support around the elections. Liberals are fear mongers for overstating the threat of corporations to drum up support around the elections
Liberals seem to think that corporations are owned and run by guys who look like Snidely Whiplash rather than owned by mutual funds and run by very hard working smart people.
Liberals and conservatives think that corporations are run like well oiled machines. Nothing has disabused me of this notion faster than working for large corporations. (There are exceptions but they are precious and few.)
Education and learning are not the same thing. Often they are mutually exclusive. If you're really lucky, they coincide.
Inappropriate laughter is the hardest kind to stop.
People who use foul language in professional settings are usually incompetent.
There is a direct correlation between scraggly beards and UNIX skills.
Comfortable silence is the mark of a good relationship.
Managers who focus on the picayune things like being overly concerned with punctuality, dress and internet usage rather than work accomplished are missing the forest for the trees. Avoid these people like the plague.
