Lady Liberty Trades In Some Trappings

When I see pictures like this, I understand why anyone who's non-Christian gets very nervous. To me, this is a clear indication of what their ultimate plan is. They really, truly do want a theocratic state. Not one where God (whichever one you prefer) is simply allowed in the public square. No. The desire here is to make one Christian, Evangelical God the only seat and all others can convert or get out of the way.

Evangelicals fail to realize that mixing God and religion results in the corruption of both religion and government. It has never been mixed successfully and never will. You cannot combine temporal power with spiritual power. If you do, any violation of the law is not just a civil or criminal problem but an offense against God. Apostasy. A very frightening proposition. Religion is an integral part of our society. It colors our perceptions of morality, ethics, and law. It's embedded in our language in culture inextricably. That said, it should be used to paint broad strokes of right and wrong and not a procrustean measure.
