I don't know if I've written about this before, but I probably have (I'm too lazy to read my own blog to find out and since nobody else is reading, it hardly matters).

I am politically homeless. I used to like the GOP but they lost the script after the first Bush presidency. I'm not a Democrat because I think they're wrong about 90% of the time.

I want a party that:

Puts America and it's interests first on the national stage

Thinks very carefully before giving any sort of foreign aid.

Has a strong defense posture and aggressively hunts terrorists and topples any nation who supports terrorism.

Reduces government spending every year

Eliminates earmarks

Agressively supports transparency

Agressively defends private property

Supports a term limit amendment for all members of Congress

Wants to put up massive walls on both borders

Wants to shift from income tax to consumption tax by repealing the 16th Amendment

Wants to repeal the 17th Amendment

Allow states to govern their own drinking age. (currently states risk federal highway funds if they don't set the age at 21)

Wants to throw the UN out of the US and limit US involvement in the UN. Withold UN funds until they open their books.

Recognizes that gay people aren't going back in the closet and States should be allowed to decide who should marry in their state.

Realizes that burning a flag in protest is odious but still protected as it should be.

Is pro-market. (Not pro-business, pro-market.)

Realizes that our India is a valued friend and should be treated as such.

Realizes that China's military buildup is a problem that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later

Realizes that nuclear energy is the future and acts accordingly.

Stops the absurd drug war and realizes that some people are going to do drugs no matter what you do. Give them treatment and tax the hell out of it. You'll be rolling in more money than you can spend on pointless art projects or bridges to Nowhere, Alaska.

That would be a good start.
