The Dark Heart of Africa. Why doesn't the world care about the endless and senseless death in the Congo? I know the left will say the US doesn't nothing b/c there's no oil there but where is the UN? Where is the EU?

Gee, wasn't it in Congo that the UN soldiers were raping the young girls? I think the UN wasn't much help there.

Yes, the UN has huge problems with their own. From Oil For Food program to "Emergency Sex" as the book title suggests.

My point is a larger one. We don't hear a thing from any of the normally "concerned" busybodies that are constantly harping on me to do this or that (or not do this or that).

He's been so brazen with his porkbarreling and the whiff of corruption around him has been ripe enough to smell from here. I'd rather have a 100% democrat run Congress if they were ethical. Term limits. One term for Senate, two for the House, one for the President. Some fear that would increase the power of lobbyists. Except that we've had three black Popes already. The last one was 1700 years ago. You'd think he know that. I knew we had them in the past.
