Killer Trees http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/news/EEAB604567453A6186256C770083AEB3

"Oak trees in Missouri's Ozark forests might be contributing to inexplicably high levels of a cancer-causing air pollutant in St. Louis," the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "Officials with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency suspect that naturally occurring emissions from the trees could help explain why St. Louis has among the highest levels nationwide of formaldehyde, a toxic gas believed to cause cancer."

Of course, this isn't news to some of us. Ronald Reagan pointed out two decades ago that trees cause pollution. He was right about taxes, right about communism--and right about our fearsome flora.
