8 House members investigated over fundraisers held near financial reform vote:

"The Office of Congressional Ethics is investigating eight lawmakers who held fundraisers within 48 hours of a major House vote on a Wall Street reform bill or received substantial donations from business people with a financial stake in the bill, according to congressional sources and letters."
(snip)
The office is scrutinizing five Republicans and three Democrats...

This is exactly the kind of bullshit I've been endlessly moaning about. Corruption is not, and never has been, limited to one party. If you have the idea that your party is the Good Guys and The Other Guys are the corrupt ones you're an idiot and a partisan hack. All of these men are drawn to Washington because they want power and money. They will use the former go get the latter. The longer they are in DC the more corrupt you become. I don't care what party they are with it's a function of time. They learn how to game the system and skirt the law and line their pockets and reward their cronies. This is the perfect argument for term limits. Since that will never happen I encourage everyone to always vote against the incumbent. Always. They have gerrymandered themselves into permanent jobs and not beholden to the little people.

Any supporter of either side should be zealous in their prosecution of frauds especially in their own party. If either side was as interested in the ethics of their own party half as much as the other guy, we'd have the cleanest government on Earth.
